Compass UOL expands AWS capabilities with Oak Rocket acquisition
CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Compass UOL, a Brazilian IT outsourcing firm owned by the UOL Group and part of the AI Revolution Group (AI/R), has significantly expanded its AWS cloud capabilities through the acquisition of Oak Rocket, a rapidly growing U.S.-based AWS cloud adoption specialist.
The acquisition will see Oak Rocket’s CEO, Dao Jensen, take on the role of President of the newly formed Compass UOL AWS business unit within AI/R Group, serving AWS customers in the U.S. and countries outside Latin America.
Enhancing GenAI and cloud capabilities
As companies across industries seek to leverage generative AI applications and the broad range of large language model (LLM) services available on AWS, the acquisition positions Compass UOL as one of the first partners in the new AWS Generative AI competency program globally.
By onboarding Oak Rocket’s AWS-certified team, Compass UOL will now offer comprehensive AWS services, including migrations, application modernization, cloud financial operations (FinOps), and data, AI, and GenAI transformation capabilities to clients in North America and other regions.

A strategic growth move
Gil Torquato, Chairman of AI/R Group, agreed with Rockenbach and described the merger as a “game-changer.”

By combining forces with Compass UOL, Oak Rocket’s resources will elevate its customer innovation focus and capabilities. It will transition to operating with the global Compass UOL teams under the Compass UOL brand.
