CAIRO, EGYPT — Capgemini has announced plans to launch a new artificial intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence (CoE) in Egypt, aimed at advancing generative and agentic AI adoption for clients worldwide.

The initiative is set to begin implementation in May 2025 and will serve as a strategic global delivery hub, offering cutting-edge solutions across regulated sectors like energy, aerospace, and life sciences.

Egypt as a global AI launchpad

The AI Center will play a key role in Capgemini’s global innovation strategy, serving clients across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia. Leveraging Egypt’s growing tech ecosystem and talent pool, the company plans to collaborate with local universities, invest in research and development (R&D), and strengthen its partnerships with key technology providers.

“The AI Center of Excellence in this strategic location allows us to support our clients in scaling AI within their own businesses, ensuring they remain at the forefront of innovation,” said Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini.

“By investing in the region’s impressive talent… we are creating a robust ecosystem for AI development.”

Expanding workforce and local investment

Capgemini plans to double its Egyptian workforce by the end of 2025, reaching around 1,200 professionals focused on digital transformation, software engineering, and AI-driven innovation.

The AI hub will host a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, product engineers, architects, and project managers.

“Egypt is experiencing an impressive growth trajectory, fueled by digitalization and exceptional talent in AI,” said Hossam Seifeldin, CEO of Capgemini Egypt.

“Doubling our workforce and establishing this new AI Center of Excellence will not only drive cutting-edge innovation but also create valuable opportunities for local talent to thrive in a global arena.”

Capgemini’s global footprint

Headquartered in France, Capgemini operates in over 50 countries with more than 340,000 employees worldwide. With a market capitalization of about €22.2 billion ($24.7 billion), Capgemini is a major player in IT services, consulting, and digital transformation.

The company placed 5th in the newly launched OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
