Omega Healthcare ramps up U.S. registered nurse hiring in Philippines

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Omega Healthcare is ramping up recruitment of United States-registered nurses (USRNs) in the Philippines to support non-bedside clinical services for American healthcare providers, signaling growing global demand for remote healthcare operations.
According to a report from The Daily Chronicle PH, the healthcare solutions provider said it is expanding hiring across its delivery centers in Manila and Cebu as part of a broader plan to increase its Philippine workforce to between 4,000 and 5,000 employees this year.
The move reflects the country’s expanding role in providing clinical support services to the U.S. healthcare system.
Driving growth in Philippine healthcare outsourcing
Omega Healthcare announced its focus on recruiting U.S.-licensed Filipino nurses seeking career progression outside of traditional hospital bedside roles.
“The Philippines remains a strategic hub for our clinical and revenue cycle operations,” said Santosh Kesari, country manager of Omega Healthcare Philippines.
“Filipino USRNs bring the clinical expertise and professionalism that enable us to deliver consistent, high-quality support to our clients,” Kesari added.
Kesari explained that the company plans to continue investing in local talent to strengthen its healthcare operations, supporting U.S. providers.
“We are committed to investing in Filipino nurses by creating long-term career opportunities at home and empowering them to make a meaningful difference beyond the bedside,” Kesari said.
The initiative further speaks towards a shift in career opportunities for nurses from the Philippines, the majority of whom have traditionally aspired for hospital work overseas, mainly in the U.S.
Remote clinical support roles offer new career paths
The company states that the new positions will involve remote clinical support work, which includes tasks to review medical records, evaluate medical necessity, help with clinical documentations, assist with insurance authorization requests, and prepare clinical appeals.
USRNs may also coordinate with patients and healthcare providers to ensure appropriate treatment coverage while working in technology-enabled office environments.
Omega Healthcare provides structured training programs with professional development tracks and leadership pathways, which assist nurses in their transition to long-term clinical support roles.
The company has continuously increased its Philippine operations in recent years. Its workforce increased from 2,200 workers in 2024 to approximately 3,000 employees in 2025 across its facilities in Manila and Cebu.
Omega Healthcare previously received the Katapatan Award for Distinguished Longevity and Enduring Partnership from the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines for its continuous dedication to serving the Philippine healthcare outsourcing sector.
The company also ranked #65 in the OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies. The 2026 edition of the OA500 is expected to be released soon.
The expansion of non-bedside nurse positions demonstrates how outsourcing operations has developed into new business models as global healthcare systems now depend on digital operations and remote support.
For the Philippines, the trend reinforces its growing position as a key global partner in healthcare delivery, where clinical expertise can support international systems without professionals leaving home.
