Wipro names AI expert Laura Miller to board
BENGALURU, INDIA — Wipro has appointed Laura Marie Miller, a seasoned executive in digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, to its Board of Directors for a five-year term beginning April 1, 2026.
The appointment, subject to shareholder approval, brings in a leader with deep experience in global retail, hospitality, payments, and technology operations.
Rishad Premji, Executive Chairman at Wipro Limited, notes, “Laura is a proven technology leader with deep experience guiding global organizations through complex change.”
Driving Wipro’s AI and digital transformation
Miller previously served on Macy’s executive management team, where she played a central role in shaping the retailer’s digital, data, and AI strategy.
Her track record of implementing AI at scale provides a practical understanding of how these tools can be integrated into broader business strategies to promote long-term growth and sustainability.
Additionally, she has a history of top leadership positions at InterContinental Hotels Group and First Data Corporation, demonstrating a career-focused approach to steering large institutions through modernization and performance enhancement.
As Premji notes, “Her strategic leadership, public company board experience, and understanding of technology governance and risk make her a valuable addition to our Board.”
Global leadership and multi-industry expertise
Miller’s cross-sector background includes senior roles across the retail, hospitality, payments, and global technology operations industries.
This broad exposure equips her to address the specific technological challenges and opportunities facing clients across various sectors—a considerable advantage for Wipro, which supports a highly diverse global customer base.
Her involvement in close working relationships with boards and executive teams, particularly during times of significant organizational change, makes her influential to the board on her first day.
She is also a member of the board of directors at Ahold Delhaize, one of the largest global retailers, has prior experience at Macy’s, and is actively involved in the fast-moving consumer goods and retail technology sectors.
