Azets buys BDO medical team in healthcare push
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Azets has absorbed the Medical Services team from BDO, adding 16 specialist healthcare professionals and their client portfolio to its healthcare advisory division.
According to a report from International Accounting Bulletin, the transaction brings partner Sarah Lock and directors Juliette Maguire and Louise Barter to Azets’ Ipswich and Birmingham offices.
Azets will now serve more than 600 GP practices, 100 primary care networks, and 3,500 GP partners and locums across the UK. Azets is a UK-based accountancy and business advisory group serving businesses and professionals across the British Isles.
BDO team extends Azets’ GP practice coverage
BDO’s Medical Services team has spent years building focused practices around GP surgeries and primary care networks, combining accounting expertise with deep knowledge of NHS funding structures and primary care commissioning.
The team of 16 joins Azets’ existing healthcare unit, consolidating a client base that spanned hundreds of practices before this addition. With more than 600 GP practices and 100 PCNs now under its umbrella, Azets becomes one of the largest dedicated accounting providers to UK primary care.

Deal deepens Azets’ east of England healthcare base
The BDO team’s addition builds on Azets’ acquisition of Ensors the prior year, extending the firm’s commitment to the East of England. Azets’ Ipswich office becomes a stronger hub for primary care advisory services across the region following the team’s arrival.
The deal positions Azets to capture a larger share of the UK primary care advisory market as GP practices face mounting financial complexity and tightening NHS budgets.
