Japan’s Trust Tech buys UK staffing firm Quattro

TOKYO, JAPAN — Trust Tech announced the acquisition of a 75% stake in Quattro Group, a food and manufacturing staffing firm in Norfolk, United Kingdom, through its British subsidiary Gap Personnel.

The purchase price is between approximately US$8.6 million and US$9.9 million (£6.8 million to £7.8 million), with Quattro set to become a consolidated Trust Tech subsidiary upon completion.

Trust Tech extends U.K. reach through Gap Personnel

Trust Tech is a Tokyo-headquartered technical and industrial staffing firm that built its U.K. presence through an earlier acquisition of Gap Personnel, and uses that subsidiary to consolidate regional staffing platforms across the United Kingdom.

The 75% stake positions Quattro Group as a Trust Tech consolidated subsidiary focused on placing workers at food processing and manufacturing companies in east England, a sector characterized by high-volume, shift-based labor demand.

Trust Tech said the acquisition extends its regional staffing strategy in the U.K., building on its prior approximately US$25.5 million (£20.1 million) purchase of Gap Personnel to give the group deeper coverage across England’s manufacturing heartland.

Quattro Group serves food processors in east England

Quattro Group was founded in 2010 and is based in Norfolk, serving blue chip food processing and manufacturing employers across east England with temporary and permanent staffing placements.

The remaining 25% stake will be retained by the existing Quattro shareholders, and the deal is structured to give Trust Tech operational control through Gap Personnel while preserving the regional management team’s equity interest.

Neither Trust Tech nor Quattro Group’s management commented publicly on specific integration plans beyond confirming that Quattro Group will operate as a consolidated subsidiary of the Trust Tech group upon completion.

The acquisition fits a broader trend of Japanese staffing conglomerates acquiring regional U.K. firms to build scale in business process outsourcing (BPO), leveraging the U.K.’s established temporary staffing market and its strong food manufacturing sector in the east of England.

Trust Tech’s multi-step approach in the U.K., building first on Gap Personnel and now Quattro Group, mirrors the consolidation strategy used by Japanese staffing majors to build offshore staffing revenue in English-speaking markets.

For food processing and manufacturing employers in east England, consolidation under Trust Tech’s global platform could expand the available talent pool and introduce technology-driven workforce management tools that smaller regional agencies typically cannot offer.
