Accenture completes consus.health acquisition, boosts DACH healthcare

FREIBURG, GERMANY — Global professional services giant Accenture has completed its acquisition of consus.health, a German healthcare management consultancy.
While the specific financial terms remain confidential, this strategic move aims to enhance Accenture’s capabilities in the healthcare sector across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH region).
Expanding healthcare expertise
Consus.health, founded in 2012, brings a wealth of experience to Accenture’s portfolio. The Freiburg-based company has served over 600 healthcare providers and hospitals, offering a wide range of services, including:
- Medical strategy
- Patient management
- Procurement and logistics
- Infrastructure management
- Construction planning
The acquisition adds 140 experts with deep strategy and industry consulting know-how to Accenture’s Health Strategy & Consulting practice in Germany.
This influx of talent is expected to significantly boost Accenture’s ability to help healthcare providers improve their quality of care while driving efficiency.
Leadership changes and future plans
As part of the acquisition, Dr. Djordje Nikolic, founder and CEO of consus.health, will take on a leadership role within Accenture. He will head the Health Strategy & Consulting practice for the DACH region, focusing on building and growing the health provider business.

Strategic importance for Accenture
Christina Raab, market unit lead for Accenture in Austria, Switzerland, and Germany, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition. “In the healthcare industry, organizations are under pressure to improve access, experience and outcomes, while reducing costs,” said Raab.
“consus.health’s industry expertise will enhance our capabilities that help healthcare organizations with their digital transformation journeys and drive efficiency at the same time.”
This acquisition is part of Accenture’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the healthcare sector. It follows recent purchases of other healthcare firms, including Intellera Consulting, ConcentricLife, and Nautilus Consulting.
A global leader in professional services, Accenture’s revenue for the fourth quarter was $16.4 billion, reflecting a 3% increase in U.S. dollars and a 5% rise in local currency compared to the previous year.
The company operates in more than 120 countries and has an approximately 750,000-person workforce. For the second consecutive year, it ranked #1 in the OA500 2024, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
