Accenture boosts UK financial services with Altus acquisition

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Outsourcing giant Accenture has acquired Altus Consulting from Equisoft Inc. for an undisclosed sum.
The merger aims to strengthen Accenture’s advisory and delivery services for insurance, investments, and other financial services businesses across the United Kingdom.
The acquisition was completed on March 4, 2025, with Altus Consulting becoming part of Accenture’s Strategy and Consulting division within its UK, Ireland and Africa Insurance Practice.
Enhancing services and expertise
Founded in 2005, Altus Consulting provides data-driven advisory services with detailed modeling capabilities. The firm specializes in life, pensions, investments, and insurance sectors, maintaining strong relationships with numerous UK financial services companies.
Altus Consulting’s team will join Accenture’s UK Insurance practice, bringing expertise in distribution, risk regulation, operating models, data, and technology. This integration will enhance Accenture’s ability to deliver end-to-end transformation projects for clients at scale.
“By joining Accenture, we gain the resources to dramatically enhance our offering to clients, whilst maintaining the values and approach that helped us build such a strong business. The move will allow us to deliver end-to-end transformation programmes at scale, from strategy and vision right through to design and delivery,” said Martyn Evans, CEO at Altus Consulting.
Impact on UK financial services
“A strong financial services sector is the backbone of a thriving economy in the UK, with insurers helping customers through some of the most challenging periods of their lives,” said Carmina Lees, Insurance lead for Accenture in the UK & Ireland.
“Advances in technology present a significant opportunity to create growth and efficiencies for this vital sector, but only if they can harness it.”
The acquisition includes Altus Consulting’s software products, such as an operational and regulatory impact assessment tool, which will complement Accenture’s existing offerings.
Equisoft will retain the former Altus software business and continue offering software products for the life insurance, pensions, and investment industries.
Accenture, a global professional services company with approximately 738,000 employees serving clients in more than 120 countries, continues to expand its financial services offerings in the UK through acquisitions including BCS Consulting and Mudano in recent years.
For the second year running, Accenture ranked #1 in OA500 2024, an objective index of the world’s 500 top outsourcing companies. The 2025 edition of OA500 will be released soon.
