Accenture, Workday partner for skills-based workforce

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — Global consulting firm Accenture is joining forces with enterprise cloud applications provider Workday to transform workforce management through a skills-based approach.
This new initiative leverages Workday’s Skills Cloud, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered platform that maps and analyzes workforce skills and proficiencies.
Accenture has identified upskilling as a key challenge inhibiting business growth. To address this, the collaboration will provide offerings like Accenture’s skill proficiency calculator and an integrated skills accelerator with Workday Learning and Workday Journeys.
“Many companies don’t know what skills they have, nor do they believe they have the data to figure it out,” said Penelope Prett, senior managing director and Workday Business Group lead at Accenture.
“With Workday’s software and data and Accenture’s skills capability and services, we are helping organizations crack the code to becoming skills-driven.”
Workday’s David Somers highlighted the use of Workday Skills Cloud by nearly 2,000 organizations for talent decisions.
“This expansion is an exciting step in our ecosystem partnership with Accenture and the skills-focused solutions we’re offering,” he said.
Accenture, with over 733,000 employees globally, is applying the approach internally using its skill calculator. Workday is also piloting Accenture’s solutions, showcasing a commitment to embracing skills-based strategies.
This partnership highlights Accenture’s focus on digital transformation and Workday’s provision of AI and machine learning solutions for diverse clients, including Fortune 500 companies.
