Adecco closes $20M deal with Defence Australia

The multinational staffing firm Adecco finally sealed a $20 million deal for the Australian Government Department of Defence.
According to Defence Minister The Hon Matt Keogh MP, the department’s new partnership with Adecco will focus on “redefining how we can modernize recruitment efforts in a hyper-competitive labor market.”
Keogh said that given the strategic circumstances Australia is now facing, “the recruitment and retention of personnel have never been more important.”
The MP added that the defense ministry is looking to increase its workforce by 18,500 people from 2039 to 2040, adding that prospective recruits were in need of inspiration.
Meanwhile, the ministry stated that the tight labor market had forced a rethink about sourcing recruits, with the upper age limit now a target.
“We also are very keen to engage with older Australians who want to contribute to the defense of our nation,” Keogh said.
The new contract will officially commence on July 1, 2023, with a handover between the current contract holders ManpowerGroup and Adecco Australia.
