70% of workers would use AI to lessen workloads

WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES — Amid concerns about artificial intelligence (AI) replacing human agents, 70% of workers said they are ready to delegate as much work as possible to AI to lessen their workloads.
According to Microsoft’s Work Trend Index Annual Report, employees are becoming more eager for AI to help them work efficiently than they are afraid of being replaced by these tools.
The report also indicates that people would be comfortable using AI for administrative jobs (76%), analytical tasks (79%), and creative work (73%).
Moreover, workers are also looking forward to AI tools that would assist them in finding the correct information and answers they need (86%), summarizing their meetings and action items (80%), and planning their day (77%).

As for business leaders, Microsoft’s research showed that 31% of them are planning to use AI to increase employee productivity — twice as much as leaders who are looking forward to AI to reduce headcount (16%).

Microsoft’s Work Trend Index is based on a survey of 31,000 people across 31 countries. It also adapted data from Microsoft 365 productivity signals and labor trends from the LinkedIn Economic Graph.
