Airtasker secures $12Mn media deal for growth

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Airtasker, the global marketplace for local services, is expanding in the United States through media partnerships worth $12 million with Sinclair Broadcast Group and Mercurius Media Capital LP.
This investment brings their total media capital raised in 2024 to an impressive $21.75 million. Through this, Airtasker aims to increase its brand visibility and accessibility, connecting more Americans with local “Taskers” for various services like home repairs, pet care, and event planning.
Strategic media partnerships
The partnership with Sinclair provides Airtasker USA with $6 million in advertising inventory, leveraging Sinclair’s extensive network of 185 television stations across 86 U.S. markets. This collaboration includes access to digital multicast networks like Comet, Charge!, and The Nest, significantly expanding Airtasker’s visibility in the American market.

Similarly, through a multi-year agreement, Mercurius is matching Sinclair’s commitment with an additional $6 million in premium advertising inventory. This partnership enables Airtasker to tap into broadcast, streaming, and digital networks through various partners, including TelevisaUnivision and Willow TV.

Market performance and growth
Airtasker’s marketplace has already achieved remarkable success, scaling to over $200 million in Australia, while their UK operations are experiencing over 100% year-on-year growth.
In the U.S. market, particularly in Los Angeles, the company has seen extraordinary growth metrics, including a 172% increase in posted tasks and a 223% increase in GMV.
The company’s global presence is substantial, with 3 million Taskers across the U.S., UK, and Australia who have completed 4.3 million tasks. The U.S. market specifically has shown remarkable progress, with completed tasks increasing by 306% year-over-year.
