Amazon to employ over 2K agents in Costa Rica

US-based online retailing firm Amazon is planning to hire over 2,000 customer service agents in Costa Rica.
The new employees are expected to operate the company’s call center located in Heredia and Calle Blancos. Other new hires will be given the option to work from home.
Silvia Lara, the country’s Labor Minister, shared her happiness upon the announcement saying, “We want to thank its (Amazon) commitment to the development of quality jobs in our country, particularly at this time.”
Amazon launched its first customer service center in Costa Rica last 2008 with only 75 employees. “Today we have more than 15,000 specialized collaborators,” Alejandro Filloy, Director of Customer Service for Latin America stated.
