BPO hiring up 7% in February — Naukri

MUMBAI, INDIA — New jobs in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector grew by seven per cent last month, says job index Naukri JobSpeak.
According to its latest report, February brought a “sequential growth” of nine per cent in hiring trends amidst uncertainties and ongoing global layoffs.
Hiring in the IT sector also gained momentum by 10% after dropping in the past few months as demand for analytics managers, big data engineers, cloud system administrators, and augmented reality QA testers hit double digits over the past month.
Meanwhile, new jobs in the real estate, hospitality, and healthcare sectors saw sequential growth of 13%, 10%, and 10%, respectively.
Sectors such as banking and retail also showed positive trends as they increased by nine per cent and seven per cent, respectively.
Emerging cities such as Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Vadodara are also seeing employment growth due to BPO, banking, and insurance firms.
At the same time, metro cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Pune are attracting IT, auto, banking, and real estate professionals.
