Cebu BPO leaders backs party list election bid

Outsourcing leaders in Cebu gave their support to Bangon Philippine Outsourcing (BPO) Partylist after it was added to the official party-list candidates in the upcoming elections.
Industry leaders said that it is “high time for the BPO Industry to be given a concrete platform to raise their issues and air their concerns” in Congress.
Ryan Tan Yu, the owner of VR firm Mataverse, noted that “given the contribution to the GDP and its major economic impact, it’s surprising that only in 2022 will there be a formal representation of the BPO sector in Congress.”
Koda Kollectiv Inc. Managing Director Kimson Wong added that a seat in Congress is “the beginning of the work and effort to better the lives of those it represents through the government.”
The BPO sector is one of the biggest contributors to the Philippine economy for the last 30 years.
The local outsourcing leaders promised to make the necessary steps needed to advance the cause and to help the government address the problems in the industry.
