Cooper Parry expands with two major acquisitions

DERBY, UNITED KINGDOM — Accountancy firm Cooper Parry has completed two acquisitions, marking a substantial expansion of its operations and workforce.
The company has acquired UHY Hacker Young Manchester and Haines Watts Thames Valley/Reading, adding over 200 employees to its team. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The acquisitions represent Cooper Parry’s ninth and tenth deals in the past 20 months, bringing the firm’s total headcount to more than 1,400 employees, including 17 new partners.
These strategic moves have increased the company’s specialist team across audit, tax, outsourcing, and deals services.
Cooper Parry, headquartered in Castle Donington, now projects a group turnover of £180 million ($236 million) for the current financial year. The firm operates primarily in the United Kingdom, with a focus on expanding its presence in key business powerhouses across the country.

The company’s expansion strategy includes:
- Establishing a strong presence in the Northwest through the UHY Hacker Young Manchester acquisition
- Accelerating growth along the M4 corridor with the Haines Watts Thames Valley/Reading deal
- Focusing on key UK business powerhouses to drive further expansion

These acquisitions provide Cooper Parry with platforms for further growth through additional UK acquisitions, strategic hires, and specialist team expansions.
Dave Kendrick, UHY Hacker Young Manchester CEO, expressed enthusiasm about joining Cooper Parry, citing aligned growth ambitions, culture, and industry specialisms.
Ben Loveday, Haines Watts Thames Valley Managing Partner, also highlighted the cultural and commercial alignment between the firms, stating, “We see Cooper Parry as an ideal fit. The deals follow the recent acquisition of London-based Salesforce consultancy Cloud Orca and co-founding ATLAST, a global network for professional services firms.
