Outsourcing companies’ CSR initiatives reach 718,000 beneficiaries in 2024
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Outsource Accelerator’s Outsourcing Impact Review (OIR) revealed that corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives established by outsourcing companies reached an impressive 718,267 beneficiaries in 2024.
This achievement is notable despite a decrease in the number of OIR entries compared to the previous year. The increase from 707,189 beneficiaries in 2023 underscores the industry’s growing commitment to societal welfare.
Diverse beneficiary impact
The beneficiaries of these CSR initiatives span various sectors, including education, health and wellness, community building, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
The education sector saw the highest focus, with 42.1% of initiatives targeting this area. Programs aimed at improving digital literacy and providing vocational training have empowered many individuals to enhance their skills and employability.
Health and wellness initiatives accounted for 15.8% of the projects, focusing on improving healthcare access and promoting mental health awareness.
Community building efforts comprised 21.1% of the initiatives, emphasizing sustainable development and support for marginalized groups.
DEI initiatives also represented 21.1%, reflecting a commitment to creating inclusive workplaces and reducing inequalities.
OIR 2024 highlights innovation
The OIR 2024 report celebrates the transformative role of outsourcing companies in addressing social challenges. It aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10).
A notable trend is the increased participation of smaller companies, which made up 94.7% of submissions this year. This shift highlights their pivotal role in driving change.
Surge in volunteerism
Volunteer hours surged by 73.3% to a total of 82,808 hours in 2024, reflecting a strong commitment to community involvement. However, financial contributions decreased to $821,430 from $5.5 million in the previous year, suggesting a strategic shift towards direct engagement through volunteering.
