Dedicated BPO facilities under development in Mactan export processing zone

A new IT hub is under development as part of an extensive multi-use project within the Mactan Export Processing Zone. Set along the ML Quezon National Highway in Lapu-Lapu city, the new complex – Mahi – is being developed by Cebu-based AppleOne Properties Inc. (API) as an integrated community and will extend across about 7,500 square meters of land.
Once completed, it will comprise dedicated areas for lifestyle and business use, including bespoke spaces for business process outsourcing companies, offices, commercial and retail purposes, and hospitality offerings. It will also feature a five-storey tower with two floors of office space, three floors of commercial / retail space, a function room, rooftop bar, a restaurant and a 12-storey hotel. In order to deliver on this, API recently signed an agreement with Marriott International (MI) to construct the 180-room Fairfield Inn & Suites within Mahi, which will look to superserve business travelers accessing the nearby Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
