Deel acquires compensation platform Assemble
CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Global HR and payroll platform Deel has announced its acquisition of Assemble, a compensation management firm.
While specific terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition combines Deel’s expansive suite of services, which serves over 20,000 customers across 150 countries, with Assemble’s sophisticated compensation management solutions.
Assemble’s unique compensation solutions
Assemble, which raised $5 million in seed funding in 2022, has established itself as a key player in compensation strategy and analytics. Their platform provides a self-serve model that includes creating compensation structures, managing pay scales, and promoting pay transparency—all backed by data-driven insights to support talent retention.
Assemble’s integration capabilities with leading HRIS, ATS, and equity management tools like Carta streamline complex processes and provide comprehensive market insights to ensure competitive pay strategies.
A unified future for HR management
The acquisition by Deel will lead to the creation of an all-encompassing solution that addresses all aspects of workforce management for a global team. Deel’s platform already handles international payroll and compliance for companies like Shopify, Dropbox, and Nike. This enhanced platform will integrate Assemble’s compensation tools with Deel’s existing services in talent management and payroll processing, creating a seamless operational flow from hiring to pay.
Deel’s dataset, which includes information on over 500,000 workers, will be leveraged alongside Assemble’s market insights to provide unprecedented clarity on global compensation trends and facilitate more strategic decision-making.
“Fixing pay equity and driving transparency in compensation has been Assemble’s driving force since day one,” said Lisa Wallace, co-founder and co-CEO of Assemble.
“As pay transparency continues to be a hot topic, we’re looking forward to building out how compensation strategy can partner with the rest of the HR suite to drive change for businesses and employees alike.”
The acquisition strengthens Deel’s position in key markets, including the Philippines, United States, Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil, where the company maintains wholly-owned legal entities.
