Demand for commercial interior installations set to soar in Cebu

Demand for office furnishing services is notably up in the Cebu area, according to the Manila Commercial Fit-out Corporation (MCFC), a Makati-headquartered specialist in commercial interior installations. Pinpointing the reasons for this uptick in the sector, Bam Abiera, the company’s deputy managing director, said the demand for fit-out services in the city was being driven by two particular sectors – business process outsourcing and English as a second language training centers.
Expanding on this, he said the high level of sustained demand that was now clearly on the cards had led MCFC to establish a dedicated service point in Cebu and that it had high hopes of playing a key role in readying much of the 1 million square meters of office space expected to be available in the city by the end of next year. While the company’s decision to establish a permanent presence in the city had been triggered by its appointment to develop 5,000 square meters of local BPO space – one of its specialist offerings – Abiera said MCFC had long earmarked both Cebu and the wider Visayas region as prime targets for its future expansion having clearly recognized their potential as investment destinations.
