DP World to build ecozone in PH

Dubai-based multinational logistics firm DP World is looking to develop a 50-100 hectare economic zone in the Philippines, according to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
The Middle Eastern company said that they are planning to put an integrated seaport to introduce their latest logistics facilities and solutions in the country.
PEZA Director General Charito Plaza said that DP World’s solar-powered “virgin hyperloop” transport can be utilized to cut down travel time from Manila to Mindanao to only one hour.
Meanwhile, Plaza also held meetings with some of the largest Emirati companies such as Dubai Bank, Emirates, and Lootah Group in the Global Business Forum (GBF) ASEAN in Dubai.
The Director-General stated that “given their pipeline expansions in the ASEAN FTA, these global industry players are eyeing new/expansion projects in the Philippines to cater to the domestic market and as a hub for regional operations.”
PEZA signed a memorandum of agreement (MOU) with the AlHuda-Center of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE) to airline company Emirates to explore new business deals in the country.
