Egypt’s ITIDA signs deals with 29 IT, BPO providers

Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) recently held a signing ceremony with 29 big IT offshoring and business process services providers.
In a press release, ITIDA said that this event highlights the country’s position as a leading global offshoring and outsourcing hub.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat revealed that these agreements are set to create over 34,000 jobs towards the export sector — 21,000 in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector, 10,500 in IT services, and 3,000 in the Engineering, Research & Development (ER&D) sector.
About 35 delivery centers would also benefit from these deals with export value worth US$1 billion annually.
“These agreements reflect Egypt’s conducive business environment and multinationals’ confidence in our qualified local talent,” Talaat commented.
Amr Mahfouz, CEO of ITIDA, added that these momentous event “demonstrates the strength of Egypt’s IT sector to attract new business and cement existing relationships.”
He added that these latest round of deals will be a significant contributor in helping ITIDA to achieve the goals of the Digital Egypt strategy for the offshoring industry which aims to multiply export revenues and create high-value job opportunities for our skilled domestic talent pool.
The signing ceremony happened at the Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace and was witnessed by the Prime Minister of Egypt Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
