EU job vacancy rate up 2.2% y-o-y in Q3
The European Union’s job vacancy rate increased by 2.2% in the third quarter of 2021 from 1.7% in the same period last year, according to a report by the EU’s statistical office Eurostat.
The report showed that the highest job vacancy rates in Q3 were from Czechia (5.1%), Belgium (4.7%), and the Netherlands (4.2%).
On the other hand, Greece recorded the lowest vacancy rate at 0.7%, followed by Bulgaria and Spain, both at 0.8%.
Comparing the data from last year, unoccupied positions in the EU increased in 25 member states and decreased in two countries during Q3.
Meanwhile, in the 19-country euro area, the job vacancy rate went up by 2.6% year-on-year in the third quarter from 2020’s 2.3%.
