Five9 acquires Acqueon to boost AI-driven customer engagement

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Cloud contact center solutions provider Five9 has announced its plans to acquire Acqueon, a revenue execution platform specialist.
The acquisition, set to close in the second half of 2024, aims to enhance Five9’s AI capabilities and extend its market reach beyond traditional customer service.
Strengthening omnichannel customer interactions
The addition of Acqueon’s AI-driven, omnichannel proactive customer engagement capabilities to Five9’s Intelligent CX Platform is expected to transform the company into an “orchestration engine for every interaction across the entire customer journey,” including marketing, e-commerce, sales, and customer service.
“This strategic acquisition enables Five9 to expand the strength of our outbound solutions, which we pioneered from our inception,” said Mike Burkland, Chairman and CEO of Five9.

Acqueon’s impact on revenue generation
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Dallas, Acqueon serves approximately 200 customers globally. The company’s Revenue Execution Platform is utilized by over 110,000 agents, advisers, clinicians, and sellers, facilitating more than 5 billion voice and digital interactions annually.
Acqueon’s impressive client roster includes industry giants such as Goldman Sachs, US Bank, Cigna, Toyota Financial Services, and Coca-Cola.
The platform has helped organizations generate millions of dollars in revenue through increased contact rates and improved sales conversion rates.

While the financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, Five9 reported strong second-quarter 2024 earnings of $252 million, representing a 13% year-over-year increase.
The company has provided full-year 2024 revenue guidance of just over $1 billion.
