Google launches phone agent for small businesses

Google has launched CallJoy, a virtual customer service system that will assist small business owners in handling their inbound phone calls.
The system, which provides businesses with a low-cost customer service agent, targets about 30.2 million small business owners in the US. Like other virtual phone agents, CallJoy helps block spam calls, gives callers basic business information like business hours and addresses, and redirects customers to finish online tasks such as booking an appointment or placing a to-go order via SMS. However, any other types of calls or questions will be directed to the main business phone number. CallJoy also informs callers that calls will be recorded. Recorded calls are then encrypted and transcribed, helping businessmen gain insights on their businesses and making them aware of what is lacking or needed.
CallJoy is currently not open to all. Business owners are invited to request a spot on the waiting list from the CallJoy homepage.
