Gov’t encourages firms to invest in the Philippines

The government is persuading companies to invest in the Philippines, with Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi emphasizing the country’s “favorable” investment climate and the economy’s good condition. Cusi also called the Philippines “your gateway to the Asia-Pacific region.”
“There will be many new opportunities for you to explore as a result of the country’s increasing power demand, expanding industries and growing population,” he added.
The Department of Energy has been pursuing three key strategies to attract investors and help ensure the availability of energy across the country: (1) establishing a conducive investment climate; (2) attaining energy independence; and (3) adopting a technology-neutral policy.
