IATF released guidelines for NCR COVID ALS
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) recently released the guidelines for the newly implemented COVID-19 Alert Level System (ALS) in Metro Manila.
During a press conference, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that President Rodrigo Duterte approved the finalized ALS protocols in an attempt to relax business and movement restrictions in the capital region.
Under the ALS system, the government and the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) will execute a 14-day granular lockdown in areas with confirmed COVID-19 cases so it will not spread to the general public.
The Department of Health (DOH) will be responsible for declaring the alert level in Metro Manila starting its pilot run on September 16, 2021.
