Healthcare, engineering roles among Indeed’s 2024 top jobs
TEXAS, UNITED STATES — Job search platform Indeed released its annual list of the top 25 best jobs for 2024, emphasizing roles in mental healthcare and engineering.
With a $75,000 minimum salary baseline, the diverse list includes six mental health positions, up significantly from prior years. This aligns with a Mental Health America report showing over 50 million Americans now experience mental health issues. The increased demand has created more jobs for psychiatric nurses, therapists, and counselors.
While fears of artificial intelligence (AI) impacts grow amid tech industry turbulence, Indeed’s list shows tech jobs adapting rather than disappearing.
“In reality, it isn’t generative AI that is going to take your job, instead, it is “the person that knows how to work with the tools that generative AI has given them” that will do that,” said Indeed’s chief economist Svenja Gudell.
Engineering roles, like electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering, maintain a strong presence on the list, offering continued job security and attractive pay.
Healthcare also remains a top compensation sector with ongoing shortages, especially post-COVID. Psychiatric nurse practitioners and therapists top Indeed’s list, reflecting the sector’s expansion.
