MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Indian conglomerate iSON Group committed $75 million in Philippines investments and outlined plans for up to $375 million in decade-long expansion covering telecom towers, agricultural technology, digital health, and business process outsourcing operations, during meetings between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Indian business leaders on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
Cognizant, VVDN Technologies, Hinduja Group, and HCLTech also signaled expansion plans in digitalization, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications during an executive roundtable convened by Marcos on September 12, 2026, at which Finance Secretary Frederick Go and ICT Secretary Henry Aguda represented the Philippine government.
iSON Group commits $10M for BPO expansion, plans delivery shift to Philippines
According to Newsbytes covering the New Delhi meetings, iSON Group, led by founder and chairman Vivek Gupta, committed $10 million toward business process outsourcing (BPO) and global delivery center expansion in the Philippines, with plans to relocate client-servicing operations from South Africa, Egypt, and India into Philippine contact center facilities.
The $10 million BPO commitment is one element of a $75 million total near-term pledge and a longer-term framework targeting up to $375 million in Philippines investments, with $300 million directed toward telecom tower expansion to 3,000 installations and $50 million toward an agro-solar project in New Clark City.
iSON Group already operates 450 telecommunications towers across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao representing $65 million in prior deployment, with its existing BPO operations serving Globe Telecom and Smart Communications as current Philippine clients.
“iSON Group’s expansion shows that our investment reforms are working and that global companies trust the Philippines,” said Cristina Roque, Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry.
Indian IT firms signal Philippines digitalization expansion at BRICS roundtable
Marcos convened the executive roundtable in New Delhi on September 12 while attending the 18th BRICS Summit in his role as ASEAN chair, with the diplomatic platform providing the formal setting for investment discussions with Indian business leaders who already have Philippines operations or market presence.
The New Delhi sessions also advanced a digital payments partnership between NPCI International and LandBank and a development engagement between GMR Group and Cavitex Holdings for the Sangley Point International Airport project, broadening the investment agenda beyond artificial intelligence (AI) and technology sectors.
The iSON BPO expansion plan, which involves relocating delivery work from three other countries into Philippine contact centers, signals a supply-side vote of confidence in the Philippines’ BPO delivery infrastructure at a moment when IBPAP is recalibrating its 2028 employment projections downward.
“These investments bring in capital, technology, and innovation while creating quality jobs,” said Frederick Go, Secretary of Finance.
