Infosys to give incentives to staff members with digital skills

India-based Infosys announced that it plans this year to provide an incentive scheme for staff members who possess digital skills. The company will also re-deploy employees on projects as it tries to stop rising attrition amid stricter visa rules, said a company executive. Infosys COO Pravin Rao said Infosys’ localization efforts have helped its business become “much more resilient and less susceptible to the visa regime than in the past”. He added that they need to continue the initiative until they cross the 50% mark. Rao said attrition has increased from 17.8% to 18.3% on a stand-alone basis, a huge part of which is for people with 3-5 years’ experience. Rao said that for this set of employees, the earlier value proposition was on-site opportunity. Infosys, like many other firms in the same field, has increased local hiring in key markets like the US, the UK, and Australia to resolve increasing scrutiny on work visas by various governments.
