Ireland’s IP Telecom solidifies market presence with Centrecom buy

DUBLIN, IRELAND — Telecom service provider IP Telecom has broadened its presence in Ireland with the acquisition of information technology (IT) managed service provider Centrecom Systems Limited (Centrecom).
IP Telecom Chief Executive Officer Shena Brian said the deal will allow the firm to offer additional services. She also noted that IP Telecom has more plans in the pipeline this year.
The acquisition comes after IP Telecom received a €6 million (US$6.5 million) investment from a development and growth capital fund Development Capital in August 2023. IP Telecom recently announced plans to expand revenues to €11 million (US$11.9 million) in its 2024 financial year.
Founded in 2010, IP Telecom offers business telephony services to over 4,000 clients, including Decathlon, DID Electrical, and Barnardos. It is headquartered in Dublin West.
Founded in 2005, Centrecom offers managed wifi, voice and technology solutions to customers such as Diageo, Mad Egg and Sherry FitzGerald.
“Joining forces with IP Telecom is a fantastic move for us at Centrecom; together we embark on a shared mission to elevate our offerings and expand our reach, providing B2B telecoms services across Ireland,” said Brian Hewson, Managing Director at Centrecom.
