J&J files for emergency use of vaccine jab in PH

US pharmaceutical firm Johnson & Johnson (“J&J”) filed its application for emergency use authorization of its single-dose COVID-19 vaccine in the Philippines last March 31.
Once the application has been authorized by the country’s FDA, J&J will be the fifth vaccine manufacturer to get regulatory approval, following Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Sinovac, and Gamaleya-Sputnik V.
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Eric Domingo said that the application “is now under evaluation.” Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez has previously stated that they’re hoping to finalize the supply agreement with J&J.
