SAN FRANCISCO, UNITED STATES — Listen Labs has walked away from a signed $125 million Series C term sheet, setting aside a $1.5 billion valuation to pursue acquisition discussions with Salesforce.

Reports indicate Salesforce is exploring a deal valuing the artificial intelligence (AI) market research startup at approximately $2 billion, nearly four times its $500 million Series B valuation from January 2026.

Listen Labs trades $125M term sheet for $2B acquisition talks

According to a report from TechCrunch, sources familiar with the matter said Listen Labs’ decision to walk away from the Menlo Ventures-led financing came as talks with Salesforce progressed, though discussions remain unfinalized and may not result in a transaction.

The three-year-old company, founded in 2023 by Florian Jüngermann and Alfred Wahlforss, uses voice AI to conduct automated customer interviews that generate market research reports comparable to traditional panel surveys.

Listen Labs currently generates approximately $30 million in annualized revenue and serves Fortune 500 clients including Microsoft, Canva, Anthropic, and Sweetgreen.

Sources said the reported $2 billion valuation, representing a 67-times revenue multiple on Listen Labs’ current run rate, could give Salesforce pause, with analysts citing the figure as steep by acquisition standards.

Valuation gap tests appetite amid AI market research rivalry

Competing AI market research platforms have attracted aggressive investor valuations in 2026: Simile raised $200 million in July at a $2 billion valuation, reflecting strong institutional demand for voice AI research capabilities.

Salesforce has moved rapidly to expand its AI portfolio, having closed the $3.6 billion Fin acquisition in September 2026 and completed deals for Informatica and Contentful over the prior 12 months.

Sources familiar with the talks said Listen Labs and Salesforce have not commented on the discussions, leaving the timing and outcome of a potential transaction unconfirmed.

The Listen Labs situation reflects a broader pattern in enterprise AI consolidation, where large platform vendors are racing to acquire specialized voice and research AI capabilities before category leaders attract prohibitive valuations.

For the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, AI market research platforms that automate customer interviews at scale pose a direct challenge to managed research and voice-of-customer programs that outsourcing buyers have historically sourced from service providers.

With Salesforce deepening its AI acquisition strategy, any deal with Listen Labs would extend the company’s reach into automated enterprise research, a category adjacent to the customer insights and analytics services that top BPO companies deliver as part of managed service arrangements.
