Meta to return to the office in January, offers deferral programme for flexibility

Meta Platforms Inc, formerly known as Facebook, is planning to fully reopen its American offices on January 31, 2022, while offering an “office deferral programme” to its employees who want to have flexible working hours.
According to a statement, Meta will also stick to its earlier plans that employees who can work remotely can request full-time remote work.
Meta VP for Human Resources Janelle Gale said that the company will “continue to offer a variety of options” for employees who are not yet ready to work on-site.
The tech giant’s decision comes at a time when several major companies in the United States are pushing back their return-to-office plans due to concerns over the Omicron COVID-19 variant.
Meta stated that they are “closely monitoring” the situation around the new virus strain and are requiring their US employees to get fully vaccinated before stepping back to the office.
