NCR to remain in Alert Level 1 till May 31

The National Capital Region (NCR) will retain its Alert Level 1 status until May 31, according to the announcement released by the Malacañang Palace.
In a briefing, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar stated that this decision was made by the recommendation of the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Aside from the capital region, 79 provinces, highly urbanized cities, independent component cities (PHIs), and 160 other component cities and municipalities are under Alert Level 1.
This means that 987 areas, or 60% of the country’s total component cities and municipalities, are now under the most relaxed COVID-19 restriction in the country.
Meanwhile, other areas in the country have now been upgraded to Alert Level 2.
