New BPO jobs to propel Cebu’s recovery in office supply and leasing

The information technology-business process management (IT-BPM) industry will lead the office property recovery in Cebu as it navigates an environment clouded by the Covid-19 pandemic, says property research firm Colliers International Philippines.
Colliers senior research manager Joey Bondoc said that while the firm sees office leasing rates in Cebu declining by eight per cent in 2020, the industry will post a three per cent annual growth by 2021.
The new outsourcing jobs should temper Cebu’s office vacancy, which Colliers sees dropping to 11.7 percent in 2021 from 12 percent in 2020. The property research firm also sees traditional and outsourcing firms dominating office space take-up in 2020.
