Northern Light Health partners with Optum to enhance healthcare experience
MAINE and MINNESOTA, UNITED STATES — Healthcare provider Northern Light Health announced a strategic partnership with Optum to enhance the experience of their patients and providers.
In a press release, Optum said that this collaboration would increase administrative efficiency and advance innovative technology to help serve locals more effectively.
Optum will manage revenue cycle management, information systems, inpatient care management, analytics, project management office, and supply chain for Northern Light Health.
Additionally, about 1,400 Northern Health employees will become part of Optum starting March 2023 to gain access to new tools and resources that ultimately enhance the patient experience and enable providers to focus on patient care.
Northern Light Health President and CEO Timothy Dentry said the two companies are “both values-driven and people and community-focused.”
“Optum brings innovation and expertise to a broad range of support services that will help us manage some operational functions so we can focus on what we do best – care for the people of Maine,” Dentry added.
Meanwhile, Dan Schumacher, chief strategy and growth officer of UnitedHealth Group, the parent company of Optum, said that they are “ privileged to partner with Northern Light Health and build on their success by helping to transform the healthcare experience for [patients, providers, and communities across Maine.”
