NTC surpasses 2021 income goal by 72.4%

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) collected P9.09 billion in income last year, 72.4% higher than its target of P5.27 billion.
This figure makes it the sixth straight year of the agency exceeding its annual goals. It also topped 2020’s P7.7 billion collection by 18%.
Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, NTC Commissioner Gamaliel A. Cordoba said that their “collective effort in providing excellent public service indeed made us surpass what was expected of us.”
NTC is the government agency that regulates cable and commercial television operators, broadcast radio stations, telecommunications companies, and commercial and portable radio operators.
It collects spectrum users’ fees, supervision and regulation fees, and penalties as mandated in the Budget of Expenditures and Sources of Financing.
