Omega Healthcare to double Philippine workforce by 2026

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Omega Healthcare, a provider of outsourced medical services to the United States market, has announced ambitious plans to expand its operations in the Philippines.

The company aims to double its workforce from 2,500 to 5,000 employees over the next 25 months, citing a positive outlook for the healthcare outsourcing industry.

Omega Healthcare’s expansion plans and market opportunities

In an exclusive interview on ANC News Channel, Santosh Kesari, Country Head of Omega Healthcare in the Philippines, expressed confidence in the company’s growth trajectory.

“We are about two and a half 1000 people, which is direct employment that we provide. And over the next 24 months we see us and nothing short of about 5000 people,” Kesari stated.

“What we are seeing here in the Philippines is a large pool of nursing resources. We have a lot of folks with very good lifestyles by background, and of course, the English speaking proficiency that the Philippines offers.”

Omega Healthcare currently operates 14 delivery centers in the United States, India, Colombia, and the Philippines, including offices in Manila and Cebu

The company provides a range of outsourcing services to U.S. healthcare clients, including medical billing, medical coding, and revenue cycle management.

Competitive edge in healthcare outsourcing

When asked about potential competition from hospitals setting up their own offices in outsourcing hubs like the Philippines, Kesari expressed confidence in Omega Healthcare’s business model.

He noted that their scale and expertise set them apart from smaller, in-house operations.

“We are talking about scale. The folks that we deal with in the U.S. are large hospital chains, physicians, medical billing companies, insurance companies, large pharma,” Kesari explained.

“So while some hospitals or providers may set up their own offices on a very small scale, outsourcing your business to a truly professional organization like us brings a lot of intricate expertise, automation, IT security, and compliance with international standards.”

As Omega Healthcare moves forward with its expansion plans, the company’s growth trajectory reflects the broader trends in healthcare outsourcing, underscoring the Philippines’ position as a key destination for medical support services.
