Optilogic acquires supply chain provider INSIGHT
MICHIGAN, UNITED STATES — Supply chain design software provider Optilogic has acquired INSIGHT, a provider of supply chain optimization technology.
INSIGHT is considered one of the pioneers in the supply chain design industry with over 40 years of experience. Its flagship product, SAILS, introduced supply chain vulnerability analysis to help develop supply chain risk mitigation systems.
“We have the greatest respect for what the INSIGHT team has accomplished and delivered over many years; they changed the industry for the better — permanently,” says Don Hicks, Chief Executive Officer of Optilogic. “We are honored to have been selected to carry Insight’s legacy forward and serve their long-standing customers; we take the responsibility very seriously.”
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. INSIGHT Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Karrenbauer will remain with the company to provide expert guidance.
Founded in 1978, INSIGHT service offerings include solutions for strategic supply chain design, network optimization, strategic sourcing/outsourcing, risk management, sustainability, mergers and acquisitions, optimal production plans and schedules, profit maximization, transportation procurement and operations, and facility operations analysis.
Meanwhile, Optilogic was founded in 2018. Its supply chain platform enables users to incorporate optimization, simulation, and risk into their strategies. It secured $13 million in financing led by MK Capital in 2023.
