PH-Australia celebrates 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Australia is set to continue working with the Philippines for an “open, inclusive, stable, prosperous and free” Indo-Pacific, said Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
During the celebration of the Philippines-Australia’s 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Morrison acknowledged that both countries share the values of mateship and bayanihan. The Prime Minister also noted that the two countries’ shared vision of “open, inclusive, stable, prosperous and free” Indo-Pacific is “what we have worked for over the last 75 years. And it is what we will continue to work for – together – over the next 75.”
Morrison further praised the bayanihan of Australia and the Philippines during the Second World War, describing it as the “source of our enduring respect and cooperation.”
