PH gov’t starts A4 priority group’s vaccination

The Philippines has started the COVID-19 vaccination of essential workers in the private and public sectors, or the ‘A4’ priority group this week.
In a taped message, President Rodrigo Duterte said the inoculation is a “major milestone” in the fight against the pandemic. He added, “With the start of our mass vaccination, the A4 priority category — workers in both public and private sectors — will have an added layer of protection against the disease.”
Due to the limited vaccine supply, the inoculation will be carried out first in Metro Manila and other key economic hubs. According to health authorities, workers aged 45 and up will be prioritized.
