PH national recovery ‘within sight’ – Duterte
As the Philippines makes its efforts in securing COVID-19 vaccine, President Rodrigo Duterte said the country’s recovery is “within sight” as the nation “bounce[s] back and heal[s] as one.”
The Philippines has secured 25 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from China’s Sinovac Biotech, and 30 million doses from the Serum Institute of India. Malacañang noted that the country may also receive an initial vaccine batch from SU-based Pfizer and Russia’s Gamaleya Institute in February.
In a taped message, Duterte pledged his “full support” for the initiative that he called “bayanihan at work.” He added, “I commend the business community and the [local government units] for your ramping of support for our nation’s fight against COVID-19.”
