PLDT voices support for gov’t digitalization

Telecommunications company PLDT Inc. voiced its support for the digitalization plans of the Marcos administration in the Philippines.
PLDT President and CEO Alfredo Panlilio said, “Recognizing the importance of public and private sector collaboration in accelerating digital transformation, PLDT supports the government’s mandate to continuously improve the availability and performance of digital services in the country.”
He cited PLDT’s investments in data centers (i.e. Vitro Santa Rosa) and international gateways (i.e., the Jupiter cable system). He said these create the proper infrastructure to propel the Philippines’ digital transformation.
“These world-class infrastructures will build and drive the hyperscale ecosystem, which is a key economic ambition of the country,” Panlilio added.
“We are committed to [working] with both public and private sectors to empower Filipinos with digital innovations that unlock and share their infinite potential,” he said.
The statement also said that PLDT’s commitment to supporting the country’s digital transformation is the company’s sustained investment in its network.
