Property developers asked to prioritize internet connectivity

Globe Telecom Inc. is asking property developers to put internet connectivity on top of their list of priorities when drafting their project master plans, given that the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector and the Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) dominate the real estate industry. Manny Estrada, Globe’s senior vice president for network strategy, said the BPO sector and POGOs do not only need a stable internet connectivity but also redundancy.
Estrada said telecommunications exclusivity in the real estate landscape should no longer be practiced, pointing out that redundancy is a crucial aspect in business continuity for many organizations leasing properties. He noted that the real estate industry was part of the digital ecosystem that is essential for the growth of the digital economy.
