Redrob secures $4Mln, launches skill test platform

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — Recruitment firm Redrob has secured a $4 million seed round and has launched a new skill test platform, Redrob Online Skill Tests.
The seed round was closed in October and was co-led by South Korean venture capital firms Murex Partners and DS & Partners.
Redrob Online Skill Tests boasts swift bias-free skill assessments for job applicants that firms can use to bolster their workforce. The tool allows companies to craft and conduct skill tests in under 30 seconds, effectively streamlining the job application process.
In addition to its Redrob Online Skill Tests, the recruitment firm also announced two expansion initiatives.
The first is the expansion of Redrob Global People Search – a platform that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to reorganize the global labor market.
“65% of the world’s population is online, yet so few businesses are truly global,” says Redrob’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Felix Kim. “The greatest obstacle to hiring and selling globally is a lack of contextual knowledge. For example, U.S. recruiters don’t know about the local Ivy League in India, while Indian salespeople don’t know much about local distributors in the U.S.”
He added that the expansion of Redrob Global People Search will knock down country-specific barriers of contextual knowledge.
Its second initiative is expanding its Employer of Record (EOR) product line. The platform enables companies to avoid the costly and traditional outsourcing route. Instead, they can directly communicate with premium talent in regions brimming with an adept labor pool.
Through this method, companies no longer need to establish physical offices or set up complicated payroll systems. This enables firms to cut down costs and focus on key aspects of its operations.
