Remote work a sustainable option – HBMSU

Remote working is seen as a sustainable option that may assist businesses to adopt future trends, according to a survey conducted by the Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU).
The study, which examined the present and future state of remote working, said that working remotely has helped organizations reach sustainability, production continuity, reduce costs, increase loyalty, and enhance work-life balance. All of which have positively contributed to the happiness of employees.
However, HBMSU Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Professor Nabil Baydoun said that many industries are still not ready to adopt this new model.
Baydoun added their research helps “raise awareness about the value of [the] remote work model,” noting UAE’s efforts amid the pandemic through utilizing “integrated systems and technological infrastructure.”
HBMSU researchers stated that companies need to create comprehensive policies to develop a culture of positivity, stimulate productivity and enhance employee welfare in remote work.
