CHENNAI, INDIA — Saksoft Limited has appointed Gurmeet Chahal as chief executive officer, making him the first non-promoter CEO in the digital engineering company’s 25-year history.
The appointment took effect Oct. 12, and founder Aditya Krishna will continue as chairman of the board of directors.
Growth through acquisitions
Chahal’s appointment follows a fiscal year in which Saksoft crossed ₹1,000 crore (about $105 million) in revenue with an 18.6% EBITDA margin, the company said in an announcement on Oct. 12.
He will drive organic market expansion alongside strategic, capability-led acquisitions to deepen industry niches and scale client impact across the Americas and Europe.
North America and Europe account for about 79% of Saksoft’s revenue.
“My mandate is simple: accelerate growth, pursue high-impact acquisitions, and win bigger globally, while fiercely protecting the culture that makes Saksoft special,” Chahal said.
From Digitide to Saksoft
Chahal brings more than 25 years of executive leadership building and scaling enterprise technology businesses across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Most recently, as founding CEO and executive director of Digitide Solutions Limited, he led its demerger from Quess Corp and its June 2025 listing on the NSE and BSE.
He previously served as senior vice president and global leader of digital transformation services at Genpact.
He also incubated and scaled digital business units at HCLTech and DXC Technology.
“Gurmeet has built large-scale digital businesses at tier-one institutions, led a tech enterprise through a public listing, and fundamentally shares our values,” Krishna said.
Three priorities
Saksoft named AI-first engineering as its first priority, embedding generative and agentic AI across client solutions and delivery pipelines to shift from linear staffing to outcome-driven platforms.
It also plans to expand wallet share in banking and financial services, logistics, utilities, retail and commerce, and hi-tech accounts.
The third priority is programmatic M&A, with targeted acquisitions to secure high-value IP, niche domain depth and geographic reach.
Founded in 1999, Saksoft provides generative and agentic AI, cloud and data engineering, legacy modernization and quality engineering services.
For clients, a mandate built on acquisitions and outcome-based artificial intelligence (AI) delivery could change how Saksoft prices and staffs its work.
Buyers of digital transformation services should ask how acquired teams will be integrated and whether pricing moves from headcount to outcomes.
They can compare providers on the top AI outsourcing companies list.
