Spectrum expands operations with new call center, 400 new jobs
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — Spectrum, a brand of Charter Communications, has revealed its newest Spectrum Mobile customer service call center in Amherst, New York.
The 88,000-square-foot facility will create 400 new local customer service roles. The new call center, which offers technical support to Spectrum Mobile customers across its 41-state service area, further expands Spectrum’s longstanding presence in Western New York.
“In addition to the speed and savings delivered by Spectrum Mobile, we are committed to providing an exceptional customer experience through in-house, on-shore customer service operations such as our new center here in Amherst,” said Greg McMichael, Senior Vice President of Customer Service at Charter Communications, which operates the Spectrum brand of connectivity products and services.
The Amherst facility joins Spectrum’s four other Mobile Repair and Activation sites located in Austin, Texas; Garfield Heights, Ohio; Kansas City, Missouri; and St. Petersburg, Florida.
Town of Amherst Director of Economic Development, Angela Rossi, expressed excitement about Spectrum’s investment, saying: “Not only will Spectrum’s investment in our community bring 400 new jobs and contribute to the growth of our local economy, but these are the kind of jobs that have a meaningful impact on working families and young people who are starting out their careers.”
Charter Communications, a provider of broadband connectivity and cable operator with 32 million consumers, previously reported an annual revenue of $54 billion for 2022.
