Sutherland to hire 1K workers in Ilocos Norte

ILOCOS NORTE, PHILIPPINES — Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firm Sutherland Global Services will hire around 1,000 additional workers as they open their new Ilocos site.
According to Sutherland Country Manager Deepak Nair, Ilocos Norte province has a huge potential for business.
The company has also partnered with Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) to help upskill Ilocanos in customer service and technical support.
Meanwhile, Ilocos Norte Investment Office Head Rona Leigh Cheng Bueno said they are assisting Sutherland in its business transition as the company plans to set up its own office there.
“For now, some of Sutherland’s newly-hired personnel from the province are working from home,” said Bueno as the company conducted a recruitment activity at the Laoag City Hall covered court last January 26 to 27.
Sutherland currently operates 61 delivery centers in 144 nations. In the Philippines, it has 10 centers in different parts of the country.
The firm’s outsourcing expertise helped it secure the #58 spot in the Time Doctor OA500, the world’s first objective index of the top 500 outsourcing companies.
